The Mambo Foundation is less than 6 months old and is still working to resolve a number of open issues and practical problems. Of particular importance right now are the following:
Documents Under ReviewOf the above, the taks of revieiwing and revising the corporate documents is the most challenging and of the importance to the long term well-being of the Foundation. The Board is aware that the current documents are not entirely satisfactory to many in the Membership and accordingly are undertaking a public review and revision period. The review and revision period will begin 15 January 2006 and will continue as long as necessary, with the final goal being the creation of a set of corporate documents which reflect the wishes of the membership and which are also sufficient for practical corporate governance. It is our wish to establish a best practices approach to the governing of an Open Source project and to that end we seek the input of the Membership. If you wish to become involved in this process, please begin by reviewing the list of Documents Under Review. We also suggest a review of the following reference sites as a way becomign more aware of the issues and how they are being dealt with by similar organizations: AdvocacyThe recent fork of the Mambo codeset has created a variety of challenges in the area of advocacy. A number of efforts are underway to improve the information flow between the Foundation and the general public and the media. Efforts to engage the community and to promote Mambo have lead to the creation of MamboLove -- a viral promotion campaign (ala Spread Firefox). The MamboLove site is currently webmastered by the MSC and is looking to expand promotional activities in a number of areas. |
